Andy Winter is not only a qualified registered children’s nurse with 18 years of clinical experience in children’s emergency nursing and resuscitation training, but also an accomplished academic and researcher in the field of health simulation. He has worked at prestigious teaching hospitals in London and Northamptonshire, and is currently an assistant professor and course director at Coventry University, where he leads the MSc in Health Simulation programme. He is also pursuing a PhD on the topic of breaking bad news, and how simulation can help improve the skills and confidence of clinicians in this challenging area.
Andy is certified by the Resuscitation Council (UK) to teach a range of courses, including Advanced Life Support, European Paediatric Life Support, New-born Life Support, Immediate Life Support, and Paediatric Immediate Life Support. He is also able to tailor the courses to suit the needs and preferences of his clients, using innovative and engaging methods of simulation.
Andy’s passion for teaching is evident in everything he does. He believes that resuscitation training is not only a professional duty, but also a personal empowerment. He aims to equip his clients with the knowledge, skills, and attitude to handle any life-threatening situation with confidence and competence.
