With heart donor transplants becoming increasingly more difficult to come by, is there a way to remove the need for a donor heart for those who need the life saving gift of another's heart?
It transpires that in Texas they have a working mechanical heart, rotor-driven that works and kept a man alive for a few days until a complication with his lungs resulted in the mans death. Science truly is amazing. Flatline is an extended version of the short film HEART STOP BEATING (Sundance 2012). The film tells the story of two visionary doctors from the Texas Heart Institute who successfully replaced a dying man's heart with a rotor-driven device of their own design—proving that life is possible without a pulse or a heartbeat.
